Sprouts Farmers Market
Sprouts Farmers Market has a new location set to open in The Heights in late October. It will be the third full-service grocer to open in downtown Tampa in the past two years. Other nearby grocers include Whole Foods, Safeway and Save-A-Lot. These stores are open six days a week, including Thanksgiving Day.
Sprouts has more than 260 stores in 15 states and is known for its affordable natural foods. Sprouts sells a variety of products, including grass-fed beef, raw vegetables, fermented kombucha beverages and bulk coffee. The store is also a source for vitamins and supplements.
The grocery store is expected to hire around 100 workers. They will be hired as full-time employees and as part-time part-time associates. If you’re interested in joining the team, Sprouts is holding two job fairs this week, one at the Sprouts Farmers Market in Costa Mesa and the other at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa hotel. Sprouts is also working with Snagajob to help fill the positions.
Amazon Fresh
Amazon Fresh is a new store concept from the internet retail giant. It promises to bring the grocery experience online to local shoppers. Customers can order their groceries from the Amazon app or via a Dash Cart – a self-service kiosk that uses computer vision algorithms and sensor fusion to identify items and automatically charge customers’ credit cards.
The first Fresh store in the region was expected to open last month. However, it was delayed due to supply chain issues.
The latest news is that it isn’t likely to open until February or March. This may be the result of supply chain demands or labor issues.

If it does open, it will be located at 7401 24th Street in North Riverside Plaza. The building will be a former Fairway Market, according to local reports. A sign was recently put up at the site.
